What engine did you use? Some engines support cross platform compilation without special hardware. As far as I know only the CPU architecture plays a role in compiling.
hehe!!! i know, right? i was using Unity for a while, and yeah, it's a better deal. I may switch back. GMS is pretty buggy, but when it works, it's pretty easy to use, and for me, it takes care of a lot of the mundane tasks.

i used Game Maker Studio 2. i have the license to make PC builds, but i need a PC to do it from.
They require a pc to make a windows build? madness! (or I'm too pampered with my unity idk anything about gms)
